The Founder, Mr Jesse Oldfield was born in the early 1800s in Manchester. The Company started with Mr Jesse Oldfield producing cakes in his own home and selling them on his bicycle around Salford and it became an established family business in 1850.
In 1920 the operation moved to the Elsinore Road site and cakes were produced on a far greater scale. After 19 years (in 1939) the company moved to the Ayres Road site where it still remains and produces quality cakes to this day, and in 1948 the company was renamed Knightsbridge Cake Ltd.
During the early 1960`s the company was sold to Mount Charlotte Investments who ran the company for nearly 30 years before it reverted to a private company, and was renamed Jesse Oldfield Ltd.
In 1994 the company was purchased by NFF (Northumbrian Fine Foods) and in 2007 Jesse Oldfield joined the McCambridge family. The company has been upgraded with a £1 million capital expenditure programme.
Jesse Oldfield has a portfolio of over a 100 finished products ranging from slab cakes such as Genoa and Sultana Cherry to Loaf cakes. As an seasonal business, Jesse Oldfield specialises in producing fruit cake, and in particular, quality Christmas products such as Iced Piece, Rich Fruit Rounds and All Over Iced premium hand finished cakes which complement it's all year round range.
